I added another website to my repertoire. I am not going to make the URL public yet, as it is still in development, but I will have that one online soon, likely within the next week or so. This is a showcase for my shabby attempts at photography. The site is handy, because of the templates I am using, so that I can arrange my photographs into galleries, based on date, subject material, lighting techniques, photography experimentation, and so forth. A network of amateur and professional photographers uses these templates. The thing that I like about it is that most of the photographers add details about their techniques. I find that most useful, enlightening, and educational. For example, the pictures will detail details such as the type of lighting used, f/stop, aperture, flash technique, such as slow synch, or if the flash was programmed not to fire. Looking at the content of others who enjoy photography, I can get some good ideas about fill lighting.
I can do a decent job taking landscape and nature photos, and I have only taken thousands of pictures of my children. I want to kick that up a notch and take some pictures of people that stand out and look professional. You may see some of those within the next few months. If that is the case, then I have published the URL. Stay tuned in that regard. I do like taking pictures of animals up close, so that you can see details in the eyes. That adds a lot to a photograph, I think. I am experimenting with the layout and how the subject is off-center, or how I balance the features of my pictures, so that the pictures are more dynamic or have something special that draws your eye or tells a story.
I need to get out the door for a long day at the Star. I am upgrading the bios software. This is exciting stuff… that is, if you like watching paint dry. Really exciting. I will try to post some new content more often this week and in the coming weeks. I have a few events coming up in my life that should be good for a comment or two, traveling, training, and plans in general. Gotta run.
